Pentecost means "fifty" and is the fiftieth day after Easter. When the seven weeks of Easter had come to an end Christ’s Passover was fulfilled in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. This Sunday, May 28, we celebrate Pentecost Sunday and the the founding of the Christian Church.
