Mission and Values

St. Andrew’s Anglican Church exists…

to worship God…

in the beauty of holiness, in Spirit and in Truth.

to equip and empower…

every member for ministry

to win the lost…

to Jesus Christ and disciple every believer

to spread God’s kingdom…

through charitable, righteous works locally and globally.

At St. Andrew’s, the central focus of our life together as a body of believers in Christ’s Church is supporting every person’s growth toward Christ-likeness, toward becoming like Him. We seek to bring glory and honor to His name by our life and doctrine (“worshipping God in the beauty of holiness, in Spirit and in truth”). We seek to lead those who do not yet know Christ personally to new life in Him (“winning the lost for Jesus Christ”), guide people toward life transformation as followers of Jesus ("discipling every believer"), and enable every person to participate in the Lord’s work using his or her unique gifts (“equip and empower every member for ministry”). Finally, we are engaged in “spreading God’s kingdom” locally and globally through the “good works, which God prepare beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

St. Andrew's Church is located in the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, a member of the Anglican Church in North America.

CORE VALUES

Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church is committed to the following Core Values, each of which summarizes clearly what we view as essential to the parish, its growth, and its mission in the world.

Historic Presence

Saint Andrew's Parish is committed to maintaining our historical downtown presence as symbolized by our 1912 Gothic Revival house of worship. "O, worship the LORD in the beauty of Holiness" (Psalm 96:9).

Traditional Worship

Saint Andrew's Parish values Traditional Worship and music in a reverent, "low-church" style, using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. "O come, let us sing unto the LORD; let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; and show ourselves glad in him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God; and a great King above all gods" (Psalm 95: 1-3).

Biblical Foundation

Saint Andrew's Parish is committed to biblical, Christ-centered preaching and teaching for all members from cradle to grave. "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (I Corinthians 3:11).

Ministry and Mission

Saint Andrew's Parish enthusiastically supports the Great Commission by way our church, in our community, and through foreign missions. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).

Commitment to Leadership

Saint Andrew's Parish plays its part in the worldwide Anglican Communion, supports our diocese both spiritually and financially, and trains faithful leaders who serve within our church and community. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17).

Church Family

Saint Andrew's Parish values the blessing of each member of our church family; we seek to know, love and support one another as members of the body of Christ. "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:34-35).
